As a 20-year resident who has served on the Planning Board and Long-Range Planning Committee, and has volunteered with a variety of local organizations while helping to raise three sons, I have a unique combination of experience, perspective and investment in Scarborough. I care deeply about this community, and will bring a collaborative and solution-oriented approach to the Town Council as it tackles critical issues such as affordability, school planning, growth, and natural resource protection. I feel strongly that elected representatives must both listen to the public and be willing to take a stand and lead when appropriate. I hope I can earn your vote and your trust.
Our Homes
Through careful land-use planning and by leveraging our thriving commercial economy, we can help ensure that a diverse range of housing options are attainable for existing Scarborough residents and new community members of all income levels and backgrounds - including first responders and those who care for and teach our children. We can also work to safeguard and expand property tax relief programs for those at risk of being priced out of their homes.
Our Schools
Good schools benefit all of us, and we all have a responsibility for maintaining our educational infrastructure. The next Town Council must continue to work with the Board of Education along with other leaders and stakeholders to formulate and implement a building plan that addresses pressing capacity and safety needs. In addition to those immediate priorities, I am committed to ensuring sufficient annual funding to support our kids, teachers and staff. The question should not be how cheaply we can provide an education, but how we can responsibly allocate our resources to invest in our children and the town’s future.
Our Land & Waters
Scarborough’s beaches, marshes, streams, fields and forests are the heart and soul of our community. We can preserve and protect these vital natural resources through thoughtful planning and development policies - and through the selective use of town resources to acquire ecologically and aesthetically valuable open space in collaboration with conservation organizations such as the Scarborough Land Trust.

"Much of what I learned by way of running a public meeting came from watching him masterfully handle tough situations, facilitating discussions, and treating all interested parties and colleagues with respect and dignity. Cory is exactly the type of person we need representing us on the Scarborough Town Council."
Nick McGee, Scarborough Town Council Chair

"I am consistently impressed by Cory’s measured work, his capacity to listen and engage, and his ability to lace complex details together to broker a solution."
